Website downtime Saturday September 6th

#1 Post by Seripmav » Fri Sep 05, 2008 9:21 am

Saturday the 6th, our website and forum will be coming down for some "special" maintenance.

The work will start during the morning and (hopefully) will be done by noon; but if something goes haywire it could spill into the afternoon, or heck, all weekend. If your are giving out our website to anyone at Half-Day Game Day please tell them that.

Please keep your links directed to our home page of http://www.polyhedralunderground.com. Your current links to the forum will not work after tomorrow (hopefully).

:computer:

If only it were just that, or I was a lot less lazy. However, you do get a cookie for being technically, if not totally, correct.

SWEET! I'll take a snickerdoodle please. and NOT just because they are tasty, but because it is super fun to say SNIKERDOODLE!

Try to say it without smiling. Especially in public places.

haha. You crack me up, man. It's like you think of the best thing to say "when given a cookie reference" months before and all that time to gestate the perfect response.

Hmm well that certainly was unclear. What I meant to say is that Lartarin is doing all the heavy lifting, while I hemmed and hawed for weeks on end (ok months *cough*).

The major upgrade should now be complete, however we will continue to keep making small changes.

If you have any issues, please let us know

All this glitz, and I can still access it at work.

Bravo!

Since our old forum site my still be the link for other websites, can we change that to an auto link to this page? Or is that a tricksy way to keep the spam-bots away? :stoopyd:

Yeah that was the first one I grabbed. Just for you Skit we'll be adding some cool purple ones!

If anyone wants, the original type style is available. Just select it in your User Control Panel under Board Preferances.

Not a bad idea GT (I guess it depends on what Lartarin has to say) and I hope you'll be directing people to www.polyhedralunderground.com from now on. The constantly changing RSS feeds and quick news selected from some of the forums really make our front page a dynamic website now.

Yeah, it looks pretty swank with all the info. Now if U can figure out how to add stuff to the events calendar....

As far as the purple goes, thanks for that:) But I do notice one flaw, with every one having colored names based on groups, I will have a purple name in less than a month, but I won't be encouraged to donate any money and get stuck with a silly baby blue name....

I'd rather not have an auto-transer, because people will just keep going to the old site. Right now the temp page is still up from when I was doing the upgrade and I did add the front URL at the bottom. If you wanted to see: phpBB2/ That should be good enough for now, but I will put up something more permanent.

The top still says;

Please be patient while we make our next move!

Polyhedral Underground will return shortly.

We might want to remove that part.

Couple of things:

1. Benefactors can add stuff to the Calendar. 2. They are currently blue only because they are supposed to be orange and I happened to pick the only style that the orange blended on when I grabbed one ](*,) . 3. Benefactor rules have not been finalized. 4. The group that is currently on the Benefactor list was simply grabbed from an existing group. 5. If you qualify for both Polyhedarians and Benefactors but would like to be known as a Polyhedarian I believe that can be arranged.

Yeah, that was just a temporary fix. I have now turned our '404 page not found' into a notification to go to our main page. So, any bad link out in the wild will be prompted to go to our main page. Give it a try! whatevertheheckyouwant/

SB - I added a super duper purple WoW style just for you! There's also another one I liked that I will add sometime.

If anyone would like to just "test" the styles, all you need to do is be logged in and use the style select on the right side of the Portal. I'll be adding more as we go.
