Tablet games
Let's keep each other up to date on the good apps for IPads and such.
Appshopper and HotAppDeals are great for tracking pricing.
Little Things is on sale right now!

Re: Tablet games
There is a site that offers free apps before they go out for sale. I'll dig it up if you'd like.
The wheel is turning, but the hamster is dead.
I just go where I'm told. Hell is a frequent location.

Re: Tablet games
Yes please let us know of any free apps, cool apps, red apps, blue apps.
My favorite new thing that I am downloading now and very hopeful about is splashtop, which is a remote access system to log onto my computer from my ipad so that I can work in systems which require JAVA, (such as BSW client).
I just tested skype, so hopefully by this time tomorrow I will be ready for my skype call with my IL frienda and I can participate from bed via the ipad & play BSW with them as well. If I understand it correctly I only need to leave my computer one (which I always do anyway).
That was one thing I gave the ipad low marks for, but if this remote desktop program works, I am home free.
Cheers!

Re: Tablet games
A couple price drops I just noticed & jumped on:
DropZap 2 for free
Michael Schacht's Gold (which is also a real filler card game) dropped to .99, so even though I haven't read the rules yet, I can't say no to a buck.
I also paid for the Wizard implementation and have already got my money's worth, but this was a no brainer buy for me since I love Wizard so much.
I am watching Mu & Tichu and a Skat & a Poker implementation for those who like card games as much as I do, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Speaking of card games, Harb, have you found a Sheepshead app yet? I was hoping it would help me learn the game.
Set looks great & fits this device well, but seems overpriced, so I will watch it.
I am seriously tempted on Bang! and may pull the trigger soon (pun intended).
Anything else looking good to people?

Re: Tablet games
I am too stupid for this device.
Harb, do you know how to change the settings so the device recalls my username & password to get into, say, PolyU? Or any one of a dozen sites I go to regularly. I am too lazy to continually re-type it.
Or do you solve that problem just by staying "logged in" all the time?
I am sure there must be a way to do this, but so far I haven't figured it out.
Cheers!

Re: Tablet games
For the PolyU, I click Stay Logged In. I guess I don't have too many other sites that won't keep my log-in. I'll have to check on that.
Here is a fantastic Blog on the VGG about IOS games:

Bohnanza just got released.
Something to check out, that I forgot about is EveryGame

Ticket to Ride is on IPad!
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ticket-t ... 04470?mt=8
Keltis Oricle had a price drop, but then it went back up, but not ot full price yet.
Neuroshima Hex is supposed to have in-game expansions available now, though I have not confirmed it myself.
Dungeon Solitaire is still 99 cents. It is pretty good, though like pretty luck-based, as you can't control the cards that come off the deck.

Re: Tablet games
The free one only aggravated me, but thanks for showing me the on sale version as it is working great. I can log in & play on BSW this way. I just have to try it with skype going too for my weekly skype/BSW calls!Harbinger wrote:I have Splashtop Free, which times out aft a while, but it works pretty good. It is also on sale right now. It is pretty damn amazing.
In the morning I will send The Kid and the CEO into my office and make the computer there "talk"to them in a word processing program and freak them out.
I really need to go to bed, but good call on the sale version as I am pretty happy right now.

Re: Tablet games
Modern Art the Card game just got released, I think for the first time. But like a lot of other card games by that design group, it appears to be single-player only.
Still, for Knizia fanboys like myself it is worth checking out.
Cheers!

Re: Tablet games
Harb - what are the names of these games on your ipad?
The one with the planets that you tap to launch ships (the ships look like > ) and you get a count on each planet of the # of ships you can launch.
The one that Seripmav and I played where you have to choose a color, then you acquire all blocks of the same color. The goal is to take over more than half the board. You cannot choose the color your opponent just chose.
I guess I'm going to have to start writing these down because my descriptions are awful!

Robert: Hello
Simon: What's your name?
Robert: Um, Robert Unwin
Simon: And what do you do?
Robert: I work at a chicken factory.

I don't know about the spaceship one but the other one is called Battleflood and it is free!boathouselooper wrote:The one that Seripmav and I played where you have to choose a color, then you acquire all blocks of the same color. In other app news if anyone likes old-school puzzle games like me, check out the tetris app. I have been watching it since it has been prohibitively expensive at $7.99 but it dropped for a memorial day sale to 99 cents. I haven't finished downloading yet, but they finally hit my price point.
Cheers!

Re: Tablet games
Eric is right about Battleflood. There is a version for IPod as well.
The spaceship one is Galcon Fusion. Android devices have a different version that gets more involved- ie. upgrade ships, missions, etc. Mr.SB would have to comment on the name. I haven't checked to see if that one is available for the iOS.
I got Tetris a while back when it was on sale too. Great game!
The in-game expansion buys for Neroshima Hex are now available with teh latest update!
NH Puzzle is great too, and I think it is still on-sale.

Re: Tablet games
GalixIR is the space game that is like Galcon.....but better. You can buy ship upgrades, and there is a campaign mode... And it's free. But it might be Android only.
