Eye of Judgement.

#1 Post by Seripmav » Mon Aug 27, 2007 10:38 am

At GenCon I demo'd a game that has me suddenly checking prices for the PS3. It's called Eye of Judgement and it is the begining of the bridge between board games and computer games.

It's a card game, like Magic or whatever, and it's played on a 3 x 3 space board. The cards all have different creatures and powers and the object is to capture 5 of the 9 spaces on the board to win. Really, what do you need a PS3 for, right?

Well thing is that it comes with an Eye (of Judgement) which is really nothing more than a glorified web cam that hooks up to the PS3 and watches the board. As you place cards it reads them and tracks their placement. This is then graphically shown on the monitor and your card "comes to life" and is ready for battle. It's way cooler than it sounds, believe me, and great fun to play.

It tracks turn, placements, life, att numbers, how many points you have left on your turn, type of terrain it's on, even how many cards you're suppose to have in you hand.

Comes out at the end of October and should cost around $80.

Yeah... I have been hearing a lot about this... glad you got to see it hands on. It was really looking like it was just going to be a web-cam thing like the "eye-toy".

I tell ya, if anyone could do it you could.

Skittle: "Hey Harb, what is this 3 foot pipe filled with jelly and Cat-5 cable?"
Harb:"That's how I connect my PS3 to my basement TV"
Skittle:"No way! that works?....and what's the jelly for?"
Harb:"Jelly is a rated 7 natural conductor"
Brau:"Okay...this joke didn't go anywhere really"
Skittle:"yeah I think it's time to stop"
Brau:"yeah probably"
Skittle:"Man, the concept sounded really funny"
Brau:"I know right?? It was gold"
Skittle:"I don't know where it went bad"
Brau:"Yeah.... me either"
Skittle:"oh well"
Brau:"oh well"

(for the record..... I could do this all day.....no sleep in 36 hours again.....)

I think filling the tube with mustard would have been funnier. :)

I WAS going to go with mustard.... but you know.... Harb would then have eaten it all, and not had any left for his project.
