I too will be purchasing one of these magic headsets that are talked about... my little microphone on a stand thing is crap... unless you all want to hear static for three hours....
I may not be perfect, but parts of me are pretty awesome.

Seripmav wrote:OK well give me a bit to figure out a night I can play, and I'll set it. Typically we would play from about 10 pm - 1 am on Friday or Saturday so maybe the 13th would work. Lartarin, does that work for you?

Also, for maximum pleasure, down load (free) Vent, get a mic/head set, and have a 12 pack of beer and snacks within easy reach.

Lartarin (the man that he is) has a vent server all ready to go so all you need is the free client. Even if for some lame reason you can't find a mic (I think most newer decent quality ones are plug and play) you can still log in and listen to what everyone else is saying/swearing at (hence why headphones are nice). Really, it's probably half the fun of playing.

is the 13th a go?

OK, I have the game ready, I have vent installed, I set it for push to talk and I have my headset on the hook...

How do I figure out what I am using to "push" on the push to talk?
How do I log into the vent server?
And how do we hook up on Friday night (assuming that is the night that we will be playing)?
I don't need MSN messenger, do I?

Could we test this before playtime?

I haven't tried this program, but I never had any success with voice connections with this group. It has worked for me on a couple others setups though so I know it can work.

On Thursday I can go over the set up with you. Auger, Oberon, GT, and SB: I will send you the set up information in a message.

Auger, you do not need MSN. You can turn it off.

Check the box that says "Use Push-To-Talk Hotkey" and down a little ways you put the key you want to use in the box for Hotkey. The Voice tab is the only one that you need to do any playing around with.

And btw way, everyone should use the Push-To-Talk Hotkey. No one wants to hear you breathing or eating - just remember to push it to talk!

After gaming Thursday I can wait until you all get home and we can connect to test it out. Will post an updated time for those not in attendance but probably around 11:30.

Thanks Seripmav. I got the PM and I think I can get it all together. If I have anymore questions I will try to make it Thursday (may be hard cuz Kat is out of town until Saturday) or I will give you a call before game time Friday night...

If you get it set up feel free to test it out. You might find yourself chatting with some people playing WoW but at least you'll know it works.

Got it set up and everything looks right... I didn't see anyone on the server at the time though... Silly me logging in at 12:30 in the afternoon.

Just to repeat my posting in the Pub.....I will not be able to join you for your first game due to my non-functioning DSL connection. I'll have to settle for playing vrs. computer games to hone my skills and prepare for the inevitable slaughter.......that would be my forces, not yours.
