Welcome to the upgraded website!

Just a few things to note:

Avatars will need to be selected again. I have uploaded all of the avatars that were used in the previous forum, however they are not matching up with the user for some reason. You will need to select the "User Control Panel" at the top of the page, select Profile, select Edit Avatar. From there you can Display Gallery at the bottom and in the drop down box pick Previous. Then just select your old Avatar again. Got all that? Good.

Due to various new security features, you can no longer embed HTML into posts. This creates a result of all previously posted YouTube videos will no longer show in the post. For future posts, you just need to click on the "youtube" button and enter the url between the tags.

The previous gallery pictures will be added back shortly.

If we think of anything else, we will post it here. If you find any bugs, let us know.

Thanks!

Hmm... I have no idea what fixed the avatar issue. Glad it's working!

Always take credit if it starts working.... even if you don't know why:) Makes up for all the times you get blamed when it's NOT your fault.

And we finally got our whistle guy working again...

Upgrade is great. Now I need to learn all the new bells and whistles.

I'm loving the new look. It looks like there are a lot of options I need to play with, since I am not computer-y.

Thanks for the upgrade!

Cheers!

Is there a way to rearrange the tabs on the portal view? or are those set in stone?

I would like the random quote above the nav tab maybe even right above the calendar and some other things like....but if this is a global setting, I won't waste my time trying to find the option somewhere...

We can re-arrange them, but it's a boardwide change. There isn't a way for each user to have their own setting. That'll be in the next version in about 5-10 years. :)

I assumed as much. Thanks for checking into it for me. The only thing I really would like to have changed would be to move that quote of the day up top on the left hand column. But I don't need the nav tab to be at the top, where some folks might like it that way, and I LOVE having the calendar!!

As far as I can see Lartarin is correct. I have enabled the feature that lets you move them around so go ahead and try it. But I think it only does it in the prosilver style and it doesn't seem to save the settings, so if you log or perhaps even check your PM it may revert back. This might just be cookie setting on your pc though (I have no way to adjust mine at work) so play around with it and see if you can figure it out. There appear to be some cookie related things that show up at the bottom of the portal now.
I recall them having issues with this in the past so maybe in the next version it'll work properly.

I'm glad you're enjoying the quotes. I ripped them from the D&D forums. O:) If anyone has any they would like to add just drop me a PM.

Also, I'd love for people to create some PolyU banners. I think the size was 130x600.

Yeah, it let me move them around.... but as soon as I refreshed at all, they went right back.

no big deal. Just a thought.

So what does Friend and Foe do?

I mean, before I completely cut SB from the internets...

OK here's what I know.

If you place someone on your Friends list, when you write a PM, on the left side their name is listed and you can just click and add them as a recipient of the PM. Pretty handy.
It may also highlight any posts they make so you can more easily find them. I can't see this at work but it may be a style thing too.

The Foe list will remove a persons posts to you. For example, I placed Atom on my Foe list and all of his posts are still there, but I don't see them. Instead there is a small placeholder that says something like 'the next post was made by Atom who is on your ignore list'.

So, handy features when we get 200 people posting.

Also, it looks like it may color code your PMs so you can quickly tell if you get one from a friend or foe.

And, of course, I took Atom back off my Foe list. For now.

So I am trying to download photo's into the gallery. I think the photo limit in PU are the same for uploads. Except it used to resize your photo down to whatever it wanted. Now it just says my file is too big.

Do I resize everything or is there something that we can do here?

Thanks.
