Mt. Doom blows it's top. Keep a lookout for eagles on the horizon picking up Frodo's carcass.

Yeah, that whole country is built on top of a super volcano. Not surprising.
Memoir wouldn't do that...

It has been wrongly identified as Mt. Doom in various places, but this was is actually Mt. Tongariro, the volcano right next to mt. Doom. I have photos of both this vent that ejected the ash (it steams constantly, which is nice because you always know what side of the mountain you are on) and Mt. Doom itself, which is actually called Mt. Ngauruhoe (nare uh who ee). There is a third volcano on this region called Mt. Ruapehu. The three of them are in a "row" and each is still considered active. If you want to see some photos, just let me know.

You can read more here about the complex: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tongariro_National_Park

Guy goes on a few bungie jumps down under, and he is an expert on the region all of a sudden...

I guess I'm going to have to cancel my plans for a visiting next year. I'm sure a few geocaches probably were also destroyed in the eruption. Services will be held 3 years from now.
The wheel is turning, but the hamster is dead.

I just go where I'm told. Hell is a frequent location.
