I posted an attempt at a session report, which, like the national debt, seemed to get out of hand. Before I spend more time doing another, I was just wondering if that was something that members were interested in seeing or not. If so, what was missing? What was unnecessary?

I figure the most practical things a session report can do for a gaming group is provide record-keeping. Session reports can be a written record of gaming dates, member attendance and games played. The other things it could do is spark discussion or act as a reminder or spur enthusiasm for more people to come to the next game night.

I threw in the links the BGG for each game on a whim, if they are more annoying than helpful just let me know.

I know some people like to read about who won while others may think this places undue emphasis on winning and rankings rather than just having fun. I normally make a note of who won, and in many games I also write down the final scores. I have no idea if that is interesting to anyone, but I can try to include them if I do more of this in the future and anyone cares.

Anyway, any feedback or suggestions would be welcome!

Eric

Eric, this is just the kind of thing we need. I have tried to do some, but I am basically too lazy to do what you did. I think it is great. I will comment more when I actually read it. But for now, the more the better.

I also think they should go some place special.

And CB, you are starting to sound like that Grognads character on the geek. Althought not that bad.

Update, I now read it and wow, it was great. The only thing I can comment on is that you can eliminate the name translations for group memebers and just use our screen names. Just a uniformity thing and no big deal.

Great report. I'm wondering if it'd be best served going in the scheduled game thread with the same date. That way everything that is related is together.

That probably makes sense, but as a separate thread from the schedule thread.

Sounds good to me. If one of you lord-high-muckey-mucks with admin status can move it into the Scheduled Gaming area, please do so.

Hopefully I will finish one for the 30th as well and I can post it in that folder as a separate thread as Harb suggested if that is what people want.

As for Harb's suggestion about the names, I put that in for me more than anything as I have to get used to using everyone's screen names while still trying to remember their real names as well.

Can you see why I'm not good at memory games?
