Got together with Jennifer, Todd and Megan Friday night. We played:
Basari, Mississippi Queen, with and without The Black Rose, and Shogun.

Basari is my "favorite game of the moment". I keep winning, but that's not why- its a really cool blend of a race game, collecting game and trading game. Its abstract, but thats ok.

Mississippi Queen- I sucked river water, both times. Although screwing Todd over with the The Black Rose was fun. Todd won once and Jen once.

Somehow Todd and I managed to get the girls to play Shogun with us. We shouldn't have, it was late and they didn't know how to play and Jen is adverse to long games. But is was a nice game though. It was a bitter struggle and I kept hammering on Todd and goading the others to attack him- "Attack Green" was the phrase of the night. He lost all but three territories, but his armies were huge! Fun stuff, despite the shortened length.

Saturday, we came back from tubing and played another game of Basari, which I won again. Jen and I tied on the score, but I had way more gems than her. We finished up with a game of King of the Elves. What a great game and I won too!

Sunday- Jen and I played the new one Balloon Cup. A very balanced two player game. I think I won over all with four plays in.

A nice weekend of gaming.

I think you played it once. Its a card game where you build the "board" by playing villages down in front of you. Then you play travel cards, like: Elf Cycle, Troll Cart, Dragon, Magic Cloud, Unicorn. You have to try to visit as many villages as you can to and you earn money for going throught them. The tricky part: The travel cards only work in certain villages, plus opponents can play hazards. We will have to play Wednesday.

Yesh kewel.

Session Report II

Played with Jen, Jen's cousin Lisa and her daughter Crystal last night.
They are big into gaming, but new to it. Her husband is big into roleplaying and he went to Gamefest to play D&D with Gary Gygax.

Anyway we play Basari, where I continue to dominate.

King of the Elves, where the two newbies, stomped our butts. Lots of great traveling on their part.

My Word, lets just say I hate word games.

The Big Cheese- this cute little Cheapass title is quite amusing. And I won! I love assigning underlings to tasks. Hey Seripmav, go get me some pie! He he.
