What type of gamer are you?: Card
I've never been much of a CCG person. Actually, the only cards I've purchased that could be considered for a CCG would be the Bella Sara cards I buy my 9 year old (and only three or four packs) and the $5 clearance Star Wars game I bought back in 98 or 99 or something.

This new(er) game from FFG though, has piqued my interest. Apparently FFG is going to take the CCG part out of their existing Call of Cthulhu game and make it into a Living Card Game, or LCG, unique to Fantasy Flight.

Has anyone read about this and developed an opinion either way? It is supposed to be coming out sometime this month, near Halloween. There is a link here for the FFG site.

Thanks!

Jim

If you can count cards I think you would excel at [strike]Bridge[/strike] CLCC. I'm sure it plays better than that, but my grandparents play it so I question the tactical tenacity some people claim it offers.

Ah, well, I think I pissed off Rat with this snarky reply last time so I thought one good turn deserves another.

They're doing the same thing w/ the Game of Thrones card game. I'm REALLY excited about the concept. I don't have a lot of $$ to be constantly throwing at a CCG, so I'm loving the LCG idea. Everyone is on the same level playing field, no matter the income, and it really comes down to strategy.
I do know that the Game of Thrones one will be coming out in late October, and both were premiered at Gen Con (I believe), so logically you would think they would be released that the same time?
I am interested in the Cthulhu game too. I mean, who doesn't love the outer gods?

I talked to Bob at Chimera and he said they were not planning on carrying the Cthulhu LCG, but I asked him to order it for me anyway. I noticed it available on the FFG webstore but as of yet I haven't seen it at other online stores. Once it comes in and I have it in hand, I'll give interested parties a run down on the game.
