You know... I have some Mox cards sitting in a box at home....

I really need to break out some of these old Magic boxes and get my mortgage paid off...
I may not be perfect, but parts of me are pretty awesome.

I haven't been around for any big events, so I'll take your word for it, sir.

I had another good one Saturday night. We just started having a constructed tournament on Saturday nights, so it doesn't really get regular attendance. Saturday only a couple guys showed up, one with his two young kids(probably ages 5-8). They decided to play a game since they were both there and the dude just let his kids run around totally unsupervised. When the young boy started throwing the metal d6 around on the floor with loud "clanks" as it ran into shelves or windows I almost had to put a smack down on the dude but luckily the kid lost the die and his attention wandered elsewhere.

I wonder if this guy is the same one that would stand on the corner by The Mecca yelling for all of us sinners to repent. As we were driving past him one year, naturaltwenty yells out the window at the top of his lungs, "I LOVE SATAN!!"

I'm looking forward to hitting GenCon with naturaltwenty again this year. :)

I am interested in general, although I don't know if I can be there this week. On the other hand, I don't need basics training, just a reminder about some of the keyword powers (especially all of them they made up after I stopped playing).

The real point of my post other than expressing interest in playing MtG again, is to ask what you mean by a
"cube". Is it some other drafting variant or a specifically built pool of cards or what? I guess I am out of the loop on that.

Cheers!

Hey Eric! Hope all is well for you and that your presence returns. Here is an article for Cube building:

http://card-games.suite101.com/article. ... ering_cube

BGG has an article on cube building too for commons and uncommon cards (Peasant Magic):
Article
Suggested Cube

Basically, it is a set of "the best" cards in Magic that are used for drafting. Drafting techniques used are traditional booster, the Winston draft that I mention above, and open card auctions.

Great article on this topic on BGG:

If people are lazy, and would rather not build decks, I can pre-construct some at home, but drafting cards is where the most fun is at.

DE:

This cube idea looks really good. I have just read the 1st link and not the BGG related ones yet, but I am very interested to try this if you can pull off getting a cube together. I really like the idea of each card being unique (or at least having a unique name). This sounds like a blast!

Drafting adds time to the gaming, and some may complain, but I enjoy drafting and I am looking forward to trying this out. Thanks again for doing this! (and for having enough cards to do it)

Cheers!

LRO was asking if you guys were going to have any more MtG game nights soon.
Trolls exist!
They steal your socks. But only the left ones...

...what's with that?
