I really, really, really hate you guys. You KNOW how much of a mini guy I used to be, and how hard it was to break.....

"oh yeah, and did I mention your two favorite sculpters of GW minis are now sculpting for Privateer Press, so the GW sculpt style you love is here, but even BETTER, because it isn't locked into the canon style of other GW races?" "what's that? of COURSE it is a solid rules set, that is similar enough to what you know, but different enough to be new and fresh" "sure we take paypal"

 Nice. For the record, it is mostly BHL's fault, he's the one that got me to switch from Confrontation to Warmachines. I freely admit to trumping up the excitement whenever possible to get more people involved, but that's just good friendly gaming, right? ;) Besides, you guys we well onto this path before I even showed up on the Warmascene.

Wow. I have a 500 point army of Khador and it comes to only 16 figs. I have an extra Destroyer and some Battle Mechanics, too, but that's it. I guess I've always heard that the Khador troops are more of a "quality, not quantity" thing.

I'm kinda hoping we're gonna start off by playing some battlebox vs. battlebox fights and then eventually get to 500 point battles. Getting enough figures to get to 1000 point battles might take a good deal of time, at least if I need to paint them all, and I am a nerd who dislikes playing with unpainted figs.

I wonder if we could have a little 500 point mini-tourney by the time OshCon rolls around in October?

We could have multi-player game.s Each player brings X# points to the table and we pair them off on 2 sides. Get more players involved.

How are you guys determining the point values anyways? I looked at the Point Cost for each of the figures I have (according to the Field Test rules) and it only results in a total of 89 points across my 44 figures. Obviously these are not using the same measurements, so where are you guys coming up with yours?

EDIT: Prime Remix rulebook has significantly higher point costs for each unit listed in there, but they are miss a LOT of the units. Is there a place online that has them all?

yeah the Mk II rules look to be about 15% of the points costs. Did you download all the stat cards when you got the MkII rules? there are about 17 sheets of cards for each faction. I haven't looked in depth yet, but everything I have looked for so far is in there.

Nah, you don't need to pay full sticker... You can get good deals for 50%+ off full sticker. :)

And yes I did get the stat cards with the rules when I downloaded them. I used those to come up with my 89 number. 15% eh? That sounds about right.

I'll have to update my collection listing, as traded the majority of my Khador for the Pirates.

There is a nice freebie little java program you can use to keep track of all your armies: Armies of Immoren. You list your units and it will let you know what your totals are. It is basically just an organizer, but it is nice for building lists for games.

Gee, I could update my lists now! Where are all those cards . . . .

Well, my main army is still in the mail from the Bartertown.com 3-way trade (shipped from WA). However, I now currently have 7 solos/warcasters assembled, as well as 2 light jacks and 3 heavy jacks. I plan on having as much of my army assembled by the palooza this Saturday, but I doubt I will have the time to get them painted.

Btw, last Friday night I picked up some pieces from a guy who plays Warmachine every Friday night at Chimera's in A-town. He was playing a Mercenary army against a guy who played a Khador army. I had thought the mercs would get destroyed, but I was very suprised to see the mercs just destroy Khador. Granted, the merc player got a lot of good rolls, which makes a difference, but as soon as the merc melee troops moved in the game was over in two turns. At the end the Mercenary army had only lost 3 troopers, and the Khador army had lost 10-15 units (including 2 heavy 'jacks and their warcaster). I asked the guy who won if this was how every game went, but the other guy spoke up and said that he usually loses more due to player skill (and some luck) as opposed to faction. He said most armies are pretty balanced so merc is by no means more powerful overall compared to anyone else, but he pointed out that it makes a huge difference for what unit combinations you use. Interesting indeed! =D>

Interesting, nice find there SB! I would really be interested if those PDF's have the point values for all the units per the Prime Remix rules. I mean, I could get them from the unit cards I have, but I don't have them for the other factions at all.

I finished painting one of my warjacks this weekend, and even gave it a coat of matt varnish, as well. I'm going to give it one more coat of varnish just on the edges of the shoulders (where I'm most likely to touch it while picking it up) and maybe put some static grass or some sort of foliage on the base, but otherwise it's done. Then I'm going to start painting the warcaster Sorscha. She's already built, based and primed, so that's good. I'm hoping to assemble and base the other warjack this week so I can paint it if I have a bit of time this upcoming weekend.

I'll try to get some photos together if I can.

That's only cool if you do the priming yourself.

So, apparently GT's son has his army now. SB, how are things coming from your end? Any luck getting a trade done? ;)

I have all mine assembled and primed, but only 3 of them are done painting. That freaking Harbringer took 6 hours to paint! It was worth it though, I have a feeling she will be my favorite warcaster.

You must have a PC. I mean, sheesh, a MAC would be able to magically teleport those pics for you, crop them, color correct and upload them to the site with merely a thought on your part.
