4X
Ok I guess I'm a little out of the loop. Could someone explain what a game means when it's a "4X" game? I'd always assumed that 18xx train games were just to signify a random year in the 1800's but I've seen this "X" thing pop up in other game titles and I'm a little confused. Not sure if it's always 4x or if other numbers work too.

I'm giving myself the Vulcan nerve pinch right now!

Re: 4X
Here is the definition I clipped from a Wiki. Matches what I thought.
4X is a genre of strategy-based video or board games in which players control an empire and "eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate".
Masters if Orion is a popular 4X game. Space Empires 4 is the one I push from time to time.

Trolls exist!
They steal your socks. But only the left ones...
...what's with that?

So... you just stopped worrying about it after Triple X content?
I may not be perfect, but parts of me are pretty awesome.

Hahaha... eXpose... well you get the idea
I saw that Tiny Epic Kingdoms was a "4x" game and was wondering what the deal was. But I see now how it fits.
I'm going to invent a 5x game! That'll show 'em!
